Tallest mobile tower crane in Belgium for Gheysens

This week a new mobile construction crane type Liebherr MK 140 was delivered.

The mobile tower crane MK 140 is a compact 5-axle vehicle that achieves performance in this crane class that was reserved until today for cranes from the higher axle classes. As a 5-axle truck of max. 60 t, this new crane is not bound by curfew. When transported, the MK 140 measures just 16.0 m with an onboard boom length of 60 m. 0 °, 15 °, 30 ° and 45 ° are standard boom positions.

Unique in Belgium is the possibility for stepless adjustment of the boom with a load from -20 ° to + 70 °, called luffer mode. 1 strand of the hoisting cable is guided over the tip of the boom.

This results in a maximum hook height of 94.4m!

Compared to a conventional telescopic crane, this unique mobile tower crane is ready for lifting much faster and does not require any additional transports of extra boom parts. In addition to its own power source, the crane also has the option of an external power connection on site. Furthermore, this machine is equipped with working range limitation, wireless remote control with feedback and jobsite floodlights on the tower and in the boom. The frequency converter drive offers stepless speed control for lifting and lowering, with positioning mode: MICROMOVE.
